Palace Theatre Camp

Ages 8-18 : They will be broken up by age in classes

*We are doing two separate camps this year!

Our two-week theatre camp gives young performers the opportunity to learn, grow, and shine while producing a full-length musical from start to finish. On the first day, campers will learn how to audition and then audition for a role in our camp show, "The Greatest Show." Once cast, campers will dive into the exciting world of theatre! They’ll memorize lines, learn blocking, music, and choreography. â€‹

Camp will end with a live on-stage performance showing off the skills the campers learned. Each camper will receive a camp t-shirt and free admission to the performance for family members. Campers will watch a movie with popcorn and drinks on our last day as a fun activity and way to relax and bond before their performance. The campers will need to pack their own lunches each day or purchase our lunch plan. Lunch is included for all campers on the day of their performance.  â€‹

About "The Greatest Show"

Pickle's Perambulating Palace of Performers gets their show on the road for the new season, but there is trouble ahead! Several other travelling shows are going out of business under strange circumstances and Herbert the showman is pushing his brother Professor Pickle the scientific inventor, to come up with a new act to keep the audiences happy.

Then disaster strikes: the show is sabotaged! The escapologist is trapped in his costume, the ventriloquist bound and gagged and the performing dogs are let out to chase the musical cats out of the ring. Herbert's reputation is ruined!

Could it all have something to do with Horace Heckle and Tyrus Snide? Two disreputable quack doctors seen selling their remedies in every town? And who is the fanatical Colonel Obadiah Blastpipe, creator and collector of all things mechanical?

With a riotous mix of Victorian melodrama, steampunk and circus acts, the Pickle family must bring the saboteurs to justice ... oh, and at the same time make sure that the show still goes on!

Shining Stars Camp

Two camps: one for ages 8-18 and one for 18+

The Palace Theatre and A New Hope proudly sponsor Shining Stars Camp in partnership with Idaho Parents Unlimited.

We are elated to announce our partnership with "A New Hope" and "Idaho Parents Unlimited" to present the inaugural Shining Stars Camp. We are offering two camps, one for ages 8-18 and one for 18+. This unique camp has been meticulously designed to cater to our artists with special needs. Throughout the week, behavior interventionists provided by A New Hope, along with mentors from our outstanding Varsity Conservatory class and many other volunteers, will be there on-site to aid campers to receive the necessary support and assistance they need. Shining Stars Camp aims to nurture the passion for dancing, singing, and performing at everyone's own comfort level. As a special bonus, every camper will receive a camp t-shirt and complimentary tickets to their performance. We are eagerly anticipating the radiant performances from these stars.

For campers who may have sensory sensitivities, The Palace will have a designated "quiet area." Frequent snack and drink breaks are scheduled throughout the camp to keep everyone's spirits high and their stomachs content. Parents and guardians are more than welcome to stay during camp if it brings comfort to both the camper and themselves. As part of our intake process, we will inquire about any specific accommodations you or your camper may require for a successful camp experience. We will carefully review these requests before camp begins, aiming to ensure that each camper is matched with a buddy mentor who can best complement their skill level.
